WELCOME TO THE HOUSEBOAT HIRERS ASSOCIATION

Attracting over 45,000 customers each year and generating over $8 million in hire fees alone, houseboating is one of the South Australian tourism industry's most significant sectors. Offering visitors an unrivalled and unique experience, a houseboat holiday offers relaxation, stunning river scenery, an unspoilt natural environment and the opportunity to reconnect with family and friends. The Houseboat Hirers Association Incorporated (HHA) is a not for profit Industry Association which was incorporated in 1987.

The Association represents 120 Members and a total of 168 houseboats from Murray Bridge to the Victorian border, and is the only recognised industry body.

Houseboat Hirers Association Chief Executive Officer Peter Tucker says media coverage about drought conditions has led some people to believe water levels in the Murray River are too low for houseboating.

'This simply isn’t true. With the weather heating up, there’s never been a better time to hire a houseboat and cruise the river.'

Houseboat Open Days
The next Mannum Houseboat Open Days will be held on 7 & 8 May 2011.
